ECU Unlock for Toyota Supra w/ B46 or B48 Engine (ECU dated June 2020 and previous)

*NOTICE: This thread is only for ECU/DMEs that have a production date of 06/2020 or earlier. As a heads up, the DME production date and vehicle chassis production dates are not the same. Please verify your DME date to confirm your specific car/application falls under this category

Which ECU/Vehicles does this process apply to:

• 2020-2021 Toyota Supra (A90 or A91 Chassis) w/ B48 Engine and Bosch MG1 ECU dated 06/2020 or Earlier
• 2020-2021 Toyota Supra (A90 or A91 Chassis) w/ B58 Engine and Bosch MG1 ECU dated 06/2020 or Earlier

Why would I need to get my ECU Bench Unlocked:

Short answer; A Bench Unlock may be required in order to Tune your vehicle if you have a late model ECU or have received a Software update from BMW/Toyota due to Warranty, Service or Recall work.

The Software on these newer ECUs will be updated when the vehicle is taken in to BMW/Toyota for Service, Warranty, or Recall work. In these cases if the vehicle is updated to the latest software they will generally lock the user out from Tuning the vehicle via the OBD Communications Port. You can confirm this by using Bootmod3, MHD, or MG Flasher and checking support for your specific vehicle. If your vehicle requires a Bench Unlock then you will need this service in order to Tune (or Retune) your vehicle.

Some vehicles with the Bosch MG1 or MD1 ECU have began getting OTA (Over The Air) software updates from BMW/Toyota. These OTA updates bring the Software to the latest version but unfortunately lock many users out of Tuning their vehicles. We can unlock these vehicles who have received updates in order to allow Tuning of your vehicle without issues.

*Note: We recommend all users to turn off OTA Updates to prevent any software getting updated - which may or may not require the vehicle to be ECU Bench Unlocked again*

How the Process Works:

Option 1 - Local to Southern California ($350 cash or $400 with any other payment method)

Availability: Monday through Saturday during business hours

If you are local to our shop in Southern California - you can visit Speed Logic to get your ECU Unlocked same day with a quick turn around. Give us a call to get you scheduled in anytime during our business hours. Once arriving for your scheduled appointment - we will remove the ECU/DME from your vehicle to begin the Bench Unlock Process. Once we complete the process you will be able to use Read/Write Access through the OBD Diagnostic port without any issues or complications. This will allow and enable to you to use any tune of your choice on your ECU/DME that is dated June 2020 and previous.

Option 2 - Mail ECU in to Speed Logic - Same day turn around ($300 including Next Day Shipping Label provided)

If you are not Local to our shop within Southern California we can still help! This would require removal of your ECU by yourself, and shipping it to our shop within Southern California. The process works the exact same way once we have your ECU in our hands. We setup the ECU on our Bench Flash setup in order to gain access to the ECU. Once we complete the process you will be able to use Read/Write Access through the OBD Diagnostic port without any issues or complications. This will allow and enable to you to use any tune of your choice on your ECU/DME that is dated June 2020 and previous.

Terms and Conditions: 

Speed Logic is not liable and responsible for ECU/DMEs that are received dead on arrival (DOA) or damaged during shipping. Please use proper packaging and insurance on any shipments of ECU/DMEs sent to Speed Logic to ensure a smooth Bench Unlock process. The customer is responsible for shipping to Speed Logic - while the cost includes and covers Return shipping and Insurance.

If the Dealer completes a software update on your vehicle in person or through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates - and in turn Re-Lock's the ECU/DME you may need to require the DME to be unlocked again. This would be an additional charge to complete a second Bench Unlock. This service includes (1) ECU Bench Unlock. There is no Labor charge included with ECUs that are shipped
